10 Feared Dead In Ibadan Auto Crash

IBADAN – No fewer than 10 people have reportedly been feared dead in an accident that occurred at Sola Area of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State.
The road mishap which involved three Nissan Micra taxi cabs and three articulated vehicles happened at the early hour of today (Tuesday).
It was learnt that all the ill-fated vehicles were coming from the Iwo Road axis before getting involved in the accident.
As of press time, mutilated bodies of the victims were still being pulled out of the wreckage.
Rescue teams, including officers of the FRSC, Police and Amotekun, were seen at the scene of the accident, which occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Express Road on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Rosemary Alo, confirmed the accident in Ibadan, the state capital.
She said, “The accident involved seven vehicles. Four were killed while one is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.”
She also urged the drivers to always take precautions while driving on the road.
“The injured victims were rescued by Sanyo Police Station while the corpses were deposited at Adeoyo morgue, Ring Road, Ibadan, while other victims didn’t sustain injury and found their way to their destinations.
“Meanwhile, Sanyo Police DTO Oluwole Adesina take charge of the accidented vehicle, while one of the corpses was handed over to the relative with the express permission of the Sanyo Division Police Officer,” the sector commander confirmed.
