MINNA – THE  Chairman of main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger state, Tanko Beji has denied any negative effects of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s resignation from the party, insisting that the party with or without Atiku remained intact.

Beji in an interview against the backdrop of speculated dumping of members to other political platforms, including the state Legal Adviser however said he is not against any member wishing to explore political opportunities in another political party from doing so.

“PDP in Niger state is intact, no shaking. We are not moved by the resignation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the party”.

Tanko Beji neverthless declared that, “Atiku Abubakar’s resignation is a good thing for him, it is also a good thing for our party, one person goes out and five persons come in”.

“It is good; we wish him the best of luck just like he
wished us that are remained in PDP the best of luck”, Beji declared.

Though choice of political party may add to one’s chances of winning elections, Beji said getting majority of the people’s support and endorsement across Nigeria’s political divides is the most important thing in politics.

The PDP chairman added
that, “Atiku met us in the party, he left and then came back again, people
didn’t leave the party because of him, and he left for ACN people didn’t leave the party, when
he didn’t get what he wanted he came back, now he has left again let him go”.

To win elections depends largely on the electorates, Beji said, adding that, “Political party is a thing of goodwill if he thinks that leaving the party will make him win Presidential election, we are waiting to see that”.
