Oyo State Police Command has on Monday denied report of abduction of one Alhaji Akeem Akintola, popularly known as Kuso, a member of Oyo State Park Management Systems(PMS).
Alhaji Akeem Akintola was reported to have been kidnapped along with one Mr Segun who is also a member of the PMS, over the weekend along Pasta/Omi Adio Axis of Ibadan.
Debunking the report, the state police command public relations officer, SP Adewale Osifeso in a press statement made available to Naijanewshub online Newspaper, described it as a complete misinformation and mischievous.
SP Adewale Osifeso in the statement further maintained that the Oyo State Police Command wishes to clear the air on events surrounding the alleged abduction of one Alhaji Akeem Akintola aka “Kuso”, ‘m’ and another Segun, “m” (Surname yet unknown) both members of the Oyo State Park Management Systems as claimed in certain section of the Social Media as being mischievously untrue and a complete misinformation.
He further maintained that the duo were invited by intelligence operatives who were on lawful duty from the Force Headquarters, Abuja in connection with their alleged involvements in criminal offences, which include; Criminal Conspiracy, Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery and Unlawful possession of firearms.
The complaint is under investigation as update will be provided in due course.
While reassuring residents of Oyo State and indeed the general public about the Commands’ total commitment in securing lives and property, the Command also enjoins the good people of Oyo State to always provide timely and credible information capable of nipping crime in the bud to the Police at all times.
