IBADAN-Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has on Sunday presented a cheque of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00) to the best Shooting Stars’ player of the season, Mr Gbolagade Adelowo, the defender of the the team for the job well done.

Governor Makinde who led other top government officials to the venue of the match between the Shooting Stars Sports Club and the Sporting Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba Sports Complex, Ibadan was so excited seeing the Oluyole Warriors emerging 4th position on the NPFL table after defeating the Sporting Lagos with one goal to nothing (1:0) to round up their football season campaign for the 2023/2024 NPFL season.
Governor Makinde while addressing the players at the end of the match lauded them for their efforts to remain steadfast in their pursuit of restoring the lost glory of the club.
He also commended them for their impressive outing against Sporting Lagos which has resulted in their unique performance and their current position on the NPFL table.

Governor Makinde also presented a cheque of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00) to the best Shooting Stars’ Player of the season.
Makinde shortly after the match also expressed his satisfaction on his social media handles stressing that “This afternoon, we were at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba to cheer our darling Shooting Stars Sports Club to a 1-0 victory against Sporting Lagos in their final match of the season. It was a full stadium, thanks to our supporters who continue to encourage our 3SC through thick and thin.”
“The full attendance at these matches validates our position that we can stimulate our economy through sports development.”
“The team has made considerable progress in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), finishing in fourth place this season compared to last season. As it is, there is room for the team to accomplish even more and we will go back to the drawing board to work towards our goal of qualifying for continental championships next season.” Makinde stated.
Christian Pyagbara’s 38th minutes goal gave 3SC victory over Sporting Lagos but the winning was not enough to secure them a ticket at the CAF continental competition next season, as Enyimba of Aba two goals to zero over Plateau United in Aba shattered 3SC’s dream to participate in continental games.
The Shooting Stars Sports Club led by Coach Gbenga Ogunbote in their NPFL 2023/2024 season outings secured 62 points from a their entire matches played, won 18 games, draws 8 and losses 12 games to maintained 4th position on the NPFL table.

Some of the fans of the team that were interviewed could not hide their joy, as they all maintained that the 3SC will perform better in the next season.
