HARDSHIP PROTEST: Yobe Govt. Relaxes Curfew By 5hrs

DAMATURU – Following a considerable improvement in the security situation in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru Local Government Areas, the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has approved a review of the curfew imposed on the three towns by five (5) hours.

The curfew is now relaxed from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM for people to undertake lawful activities with effect from Sunday, 4th August 2024.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Brigadier-General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), Security Adviser to the Governor “The Security agencies are enjoined to maintain the current level of security alertness and ensure that no space is given to hoodlums and miscreants to perpetrate any act of lawlessness during the curfew relaxation period.”

“Consequently, law-abiding citizens are requested to carry out their lawful activities during the intervening period (12:00 noon to 5:00 PM) while the period between 5.00p.m to 12.00 noon remains restricted.”
