This was part of the resolves on a motion moved by Hon. Modiu Akande, representing Ibadan South East 1 State Constituency during the plenary presided over by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi.
Presenting the motion, Hon. Akande noted that Vocational and Technical Education focus on providing students with practical skills and training that will make them functional as workers in any workplace.
He added further that the acquired skills through Vocational and Technical Education promotes entrepreneurship by empowering individual to start their own business and allows them to specialise in specific fields.
“By emphasising Vocational and Technical Education, individual will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their chosen careers, he added.
He revealed that industrialization has created a high demand for technicians in various industries, hence the need to enhance the channel to create more job opportunities for the teeming youth of the State.
