Police Neutralize Notorious Kidnapping Kingpin, “Nkem ThankGod” ••• Gang Members Flee

PORT HARCOURT – The Rivers State Police Command has successfully neutralised a 42 years old notorious kidnap kingpin and murder suspect, identified as Nkem ThankGod, a.k.a. “2man,” from Ogbologbolo Community, Ahoada West Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect until his death was the leader of the Greenlander Cult group and was responsible for a series of heinous crimes in Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs, including the killing the youth President of Okogbe Community, Mr. Christmas Ede, on December 21, 2021.
Parading the lifeless body of the criminal on Thursday before journalists at the Command Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, the state Commissioner of Police CP Mustapha Bala said the deceased was behind the killing of mobile police personnel, three civilians and a spare parts dealer he kidnapped after collecting ransom.
CP Bala stated that the suspect met his end during an intelligence-led operation while attempting another kidnapping, while his gang members managed to escape with injuries, adding that efforts are underway to apprehend them.
He disclosed that the suspect was also responsible for the murder of two Shell staff in Okogbe and the stealing their Toyota Hilux.

“This individual, a leader of the Greenlander Cult Group, had been responsible for a series of heinous crimes in Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs, including: Killing the Youth President of Okogbe Community, Mr. Christmas Ede, on December 21, 2021.
“Multiple killings in 2024, including two PMF 48 personnel, three civilians (Mr. and Mrs. Rex Kiriki and Mrs. Abigail Victor), and a spare parts dealer after collecting ransom. Murdering two Shell staff in Okogbe and stealing their Toyota Hilux.”
The state Commissioner of Police revealed that the killed suspect shot and killed a Superintendent of Police during a rescue operation in 2022, also killing two police officers in 2023, attached to the rapid response team in the state.
The CP further disclosed that the suspect masterminded multiple kidnappings, armed robberies, oil vandalism, carjackings and extorting ransoms from his victims before killing them.
The state Police Chief, who reaffirmed the police commitment to protecting lives and property, assured that the police in the state will continue to dismantle criminal networks in the region.
CP Bala added that his personnel at the wake of the operation, recovered two AK-47 rifles, five magazines and 22 rounds of live ammunition from the deceased criminal.

“Kidnapping and carjacking a red Toyota Camry from Dare Shola in October 2024. Orchestrating several kidnappings and extorting ransoms before killing victims. Frequent vandalization of oil pipelines and government installations in Ahoada West.
“Nkem ThankGod met his end during an intelligence-led operation while attempting another kidnapping. His gang members managed to escape with injuries, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.”
