Lakurawa Kills 3 Airtel Staff, One Other At construction Site In Kebbi

KEBBI – Kebbi State Police Command has on Saturday confirmed the killing of three Airtel staff and one other civilian in Gumki village a border between Nigeria and Niger republic under Arewa local government area of Kebbi state.
The police image maker, SP Nafiu Abubakar who confirmed the attack in a statement on Saturday said that the armed bandits invaded the construction site where the Airtel staff were installing mast for immigration killing three staff of Airtel and one civilian an indigene of the town.
The statement added that on receipt of the report CP Bello.M. Sani and Kebbi state Comptroller of immigration , Muhammad Bashir Lawali quickly mobilised to the site and evacuated the bodies to sir Yahya memorial Hospital in Birnin Kebbi.
He added that, the commissioner of police has restructured the security architecture of the area and deployed more tactical squad to deal decisively with lakurawa bandits terrorising the area.
While he held meeting with stakeholders in the affected village , he urged security agencies in the area to work in synergy to contain armed banditry he as well appeal to members of the public to cooperate with security agencies and report suspicious movements.
