Newly Sworn In Perm Sec, Prince Adenrele Hails Makinde, Says Alaafin’s Enthronement Divine

IBADAN – One of the newly sworn in Permanent Secretary in the service of Oyo state government, Prince Adenrele Imran has praised governor Seyi Makinde for the official presentation of instruments of office to the new Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade.

Prince Adenrele, who was formerly among the aspirant that contested for the coveted Alaafin stool described the two events, the presentation of instruments of office to new Alaafin and his swearing in as a permanent secretary as not only historic but also a twin victory that is divinely ordained.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after his inauguration by the executive governor of Oyo state, alongside 47 others, Prince Adenrele said the two key events which took place the same day at the same venue marked a symbolic and historic milestone in his life.

The excited Oyo Prince urged all other aspirants to the exalted throne of Alaafin of Oyo and other stakeholders who may feel aggrieved for any reason to accept the turn of events as the newly appointed monarch has been destined to sit on the throne of his forebears.

Recall that the new Alaafin, Oba Owoade, who succeeded the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, received the staff and certificate of office early on Monday morning in a ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries, traditional rulers, and critical stakeholders to the highly reverred stool.

Governor Seyi Makinde, in his remarks, emphasized the significance of the Alaafin’s ascension, noting that the institution of traditional leadership remains pivotal to the state’s development. He also congratulated the new Permanent Secretaries, urging them to discharge their duties with diligence and integrity.

Prince Adenrele explained that regardless of the outcome of the contest to the throne, all the royal princes from various royal families, ably qualified and eligible are well aware that only one would eventually emerge as the king. He therefore, appealed for unity and calm among the various royal families.

He equally solicited for cooperation of all and support for the new Alaafin saying: “there’s no winner and there’s no vanquish, it’s a victory for all of us in the royal household.”

He maintained that the emergence of HIM, Oba Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo should be celebrated by all as a victory for not only the royal Household but the entire Oyo kingdom.

He thanked governor Makinde for making his inauguration as a permanent secretary not only a mere ceremony among many other government activities but one that he would cherish and hold dearly as historic event for the rest of his life.

He vowed to discharge his duties in his new role with the fear of God and the love of the state, setting public interest above all personal interest. He equally assured that as a team player at the work place, he would bring his wealth of experience in the civil service to bear on the job wherever he is deployed to.
