Bodija Explosion: Hope Dashed Again As Promised Support For Victims Seems Elusive 

IBADAN – It is another month after the anniversary of the Bodija Explosion and the promised SUPPORT from the Oyo State Government is yet to reach the suffering victims!

Concerned citizens wondered: With all the high hopes from encouragement from the Government, it seems the people are chasing shadows.

It is noteworthy that there was the press release from the Ministry of Information on the 16th of January 2025, which stated that the Governor had received the Report from the special Committee headed by the Deputy Governor and that disbursement of the Support would be done within two weeks.

It is now over four weeks after the statement and nothing seems to have happened, unless the victims are lying, which we seriously doubt.

As to many incidents in Nigeria, the issue of support for victims of Bodija explosion might soon be a forgotten issue, if nothing tangible is done now.

Some of the victims are on medication due to injuries suffered during the explosion while others remain homeless and some squatting with relatives to survive the hard time.
