Police Week: Oyo Police Officers Undergo Physical Training As CP Johnson Adenola Reaffirms Commitment To Duty

IBADAN – The Oyo State Police Command organized a Walkathon exercise for all his Officers within the state, as part of the activities scheduled for the National Police Week celebration.

Our reporter who monitored the exercise, reports that the state Commissioner of Police CP Johnson Oluwole Adenola alongside some Divisional Police Officers led other officers of the Command in the walk that took off from the State Police Headquarters Eleyele, Ibadan to Jericho Roundabout back to the Command before commencing the aerobic exercise.

Officers of the Command both male and female were happy to partake in the fitness exercise as they were visibly excited and active during the physical aerobic activities.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise, CP Johnson Adenola said the exercise will go a long way to show members of the public that the Officers of the Oyo State Police command are physically fit and ready for the work assigned to them.

He said, “this is part of the line up activities marking the maiden edition of the national Police Week.”

“Police is a job for the able bodied people, it is not a job for the disabled, that is why we engaged in the walk this morning to exercise ourselves.”

“This will also go a long way to tell our people that we are fit and ready for the task we are assigned for, our duty is to maintain law and order, to also ensure safety of lives and properties of our people and we can’t do this without being physically active, we’ve demonstrated this by this walk, and I can assure you that we are ready for the task anyday, anytime.” Adenola said.

Recall that earlier during the week, the Oyo State Police command held series of activities, including security stakeholder meeting, free medical outreach, and cleanup exercises, to commemorate the maiden edition of the National Police week and to reinforce the spirit of collaboration between law enforcement and the public.
