Cultists’ Supremacy Battle Claims Lives In Rivers

PORT HARCOURT – An ongoing cultists’ supremacy battle in the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt, Rivers state on Wednesday night took a troubling dimension as warring faction of Deygbam cult groups shot and killed a member of local vigilante at Echue street, Mile 2 axis of Diobu.
Our correspondent gathered that the deceased member of the local vigilante was ambushed and shot at about 10:00pm in the night.
It was learnt that the deceased is suspected to be a member of one of the warring factions that have locked horns with each other for over three weeks now.
This was as a young lady who came to visit her brother at Mile 1 axis of Diobu, was reportedly hit and killed by a stray bullet after the rampaging cultists engaged themselves in a shootout.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko could not immediately confirm the incidents.
However, several members of the vigilante outfit who pleaded anonymity confirmed the killing of their member.
Recall that last Sunday night, a taxi driver identified as Barnabas was shot dead by suspected cultists at his house front in Echue street Mile 2 Diobu.
On the penultimate Friday, suspected Deygbam cult groups took control of Education bus stop in Ikwerre road where they engaged themselves in shootout for over 15 minutes.
Also, sometime last month, a member of one of the Deygbam cult faction identified as Ishie was killed at railway axis, Mile 1 Diobu of Port Harcourt.
