Oyo First Lady’s Media Officer, Kola Oyewale Bags 2025 Excellence Award, Says It’s A Fresh Mandate To Serve

IBADAN – THE Oyo State Government has honoured Mr. Kola Oyewale, a media officer in the Office of the First Lady, with the 2025 Excellence Award in recognition of his exceptional work ethic, professionalism, and consistent dedication to public service.
The award was presented during the 2025 Public Service Week and Merit Award Ceremony held at the House of Chiefs, Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan. The event celebrated outstanding civil and public servants whose contributions have significantly enhanced productivity and service delivery in Oyo State.
Governor Seyi Makinde, while addressing the awardees, commended Oyewale and other recipients for distinguishing themselves through diligence and integrity.
He urged them to remain committed to excellence, stressing that their efforts continue to strengthen the civil service and support the state’s development agenda.
Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of workers and ensuring that outstanding performance is consistently recognised.
He encouraged other civil servants to emulate the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by this year’s honourees.
Speaking after receiving the award, Mr. Kola Oyewale expressed sincere gratitude to the state government, describing the honour as both humbling and motivating.
“ I feel truly elated and grateful. Having served in the civil service for over 20 years, being recognised by the state government for my contributions means a lot to me,” he said.
He urged his colleagues across the public service to remain diligent, emphasising that dedication never goes unnoticed.
“Whatever you are doing, do it with commitment, dedication, and diligence. People are watching you, even when you don’t know. That was my experience, I had no idea I was being noticed, but to the glory of God, I have now been rewarded,” he added.
Oyewale described the award not as an end, but as a renewed responsibility to contribute even more to the state.
“To me, this is not just an award; it is a fresh mandate to serve. It is a push to do more, to work harder, stay diligent, and remain focused. This recognition is not for me alone; it is the result of collective effort. And by God’s grace, I am inspired to do even more,” he stated.
