Ganduje Confirms Gov. Yusuf As APC Flagbearer For 2027

KANO – FORMER APC National Chairman, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday announced
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as APC’s sole candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.
The former two-term governor told a quality of APC big wigs during the governor’s return to the party that the decision was a sacrifice on the side of all prospective aspirants to step down their ambition.
Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje explained that “I can categorically tell you that you are going to win in 2027 with a landslide because all those contesting for the same seat have agreed to allow you to go alone for it.”
He described the governor’s return as a historic and unifying moment for the APC in Kano, recalling their shared history in the party.
“We were in the APC together with you; it was formed with you. Later, due to political differences, you left the party for the NNPP, but we are thankful that you are now back in your home and with your party,” Ganduje said.
Ganduje also praised Governor Yusuf’s leadership and achievements, adding, “You, as our brother and the Governor of Kano State, are a progressive politician your utterances, policies, and implementation of those policies speak for themselves. Today, you stand as the leader of the APC in Kano State.”
Meanwhile, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin commended Governor Yusuf for his bold decision to return to the APC, describing it as a lasting commitment that will consolidate the party’s position in the state.
