Outgoing Edo CP, AIG Abutu Yaro Unveils Identity Of Victims, Orders Interrogation On Auchi DPO

Outgoing Edo CP has unveiled identity of victims of Apostle Suleiman’s attack.

Naijanewshub.com.ng reports that the Nigeria Police, Edo State Command has unveiled the identity of victims of Friday attacked on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, General overseer of Omega Fire Ministry along Warrake-Auchi road in Owan East local government area of Edo State.

This is coming just as the outgoing Commissioner of Police CP, now AIG Abutu Yaro has ordered the withdrawal of CSP Ayodele Suleiman, the DPO, Auchi Police Division for debriefing at the State Headquarters with immediate effect over circumstances that led to the death of one of the surviving members of the monstrous gang that was arrested at scene of the incident.

This was contained in a statement titled ” Attempted Assassination/ Kidnapping/Murder Of Police Personnel/Civillians” and signed by ASP Iwegbu Jennifer, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer.

According to statement, “the Edo State Police Command has been inundated by an ugly incident that occurred yesterday 21/10/22 at about 1745hrs along Warreke-Auchi road, Edo State where the convoy vehicle of the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleiman was attacked by unknown assailants suspected to be assassins.

“During the attack, 3 police personnel, Insp Igbaugba Paragon, Insp Afensumu Philip, Insp Akpolor Monday who are all aides of the Apostle and 3 civilians, Ahmed Promise ‘M’, Momoh Ilegogie’M’, and Janet surname unknown’F’, were shot dead by the assailants while one Vera surname unknown ‘F’ was suspected to have been whisked away by the assailants.

“On receipt of this information, DPO Auchi immediately mobilised Policemen, gave the assailants a hot chase, and engaged them. One of the assailants was neutralized in the process and one Toyota Avensis car WITH REG NO LAGOS KRD 92 HU was also recovered.

The bodies of the deceased have since been deposited at the morgue while intense bush coming and intelligence gathering is still ongoing for possible arrests of the assailants.

The Outgoing CP, now AIG Abutu Yaro fdc has ordered the DC CID, DCP Samuel Olawore, Explosive and Ordinance Investigators and Forensic experts to the scene, While Tactical Teams led by the AC OPs, ACP James Chu are advancing to the general area to conduct further coordinate pursuit of the assailants.

“He commensurated with the bereaved families and prays to God to console them, as the authority of the Nigerian Police Force share from the moment of their grief while assuring that the perpetrators of this heinous crime must be brought to book to face the consequences of their action.

The Command while appealing for calm promised that it will use all of its Human and material resources towards ensuring that the assailants are brought to book. It further urges the good people of the State to swiftly report any strange movement, or unusual gathering within their environment to the police and other sister security agencies noting that security is everybody’s business.

Meanwhile, members of the Public are urged to remain calm and be patient as no stone would be left unturned to unearth the circumstances surrounding it”.

This was followed with another statement in less than an hour later

and was also signed by signed by ASP Iwegbu Jennifer, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer.

According to the second statement, “The outgoing Commissioner of Police CP, now AIG Abutu Yaro has ordered the withdrawal of CSP Ayodele Suleiman, the DPO, Auchi Police Division for debriefing at the State Headquarters with immediate effect.

The withdrawal of the Auchi DPO is part of the measures of the Command concerning the circumstances that led to the death of one of the surviving members of the monstrous gang that attacked the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, General overseer of Omega Fire Ministry.

Meanwhile, the Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleiman has confirmed losing seven persons during attacked on his convey by unknown gunmen on Friday evening.

Apostle Suleiman confirmed this in one of the two separate videos he posted after the incident.

In the video, he said, “Since 2017, there are certain things that have been happening that I have been quiet about. If you are the most careless person on earth, you will not give yourself to so much scandal.

“There are things people don’t known; even though one or two people along the line took advantage of that, they just come out and say one or two things, but the reason I am coming out to speak now is because they done all that and they discovered that I am still moving on, they decided to make attempt on my life.

“I just escape assassination attempt where seven (7) people were killed. My car was attacked, they open fire on my car and keep spraying bullets on my car, my wife and my kids were there. The escort car with the police, they killed a policeman, they killed other people, the other escort car, and the buses with seven people – we were all moving in a convoy they killed.

“People who did this are expecting me to come out and mention names so that they will come out and deny. I don’t do that, but the truth of the matter is this – you can’t kill me, my life is in the hand of God, I am a man of God and those who are among those attacking me, you are building on what you don’t understand.

“You may have joined into the foray because you want to chase cloud, you don’t know where the fight started from. There are things you don’t understand. You don’t have an idea of the beginning of what happen in 2017. The people who are behind it, you may come and you are doing your own things, but is beyond what you are thinking.

“I am alive. For those who called and all that, I am well, the family is fine. I feel bad for the lives that have been taken. We are mourning, but Jesus is Lord, and for those who they killed, may their soul rest in peace.

“And for the young men who open fire and keep wasting people, I won’t take a life, but the seed that you soul you will reap it.

“I want Nigerians to know that I coordinated lie swallowed an uncoordinated truth. With time, the truth will come out,” he said.
