DAMATURU — DOZENS of people are feared dead following an alleged airstrike on Jilli Village in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State, which reportedly struck during a busy market day.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred at the peak of trading activities, triggering panic as traders and residents scrambled for safety amid the chaos.
The full extent of casualties remains unclear, but fears of significant loss of life continue to grow.
Medical sources at Geidam Specialist Hospital confirmed that several injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the facility’s Accident and Emergency Unit.
According to hospital officials, at least two critically injured persons have been referred to the University Teaching Hospital in Damaturu for advanced care.
