IBADAN    —  A member of the House of Representatives and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant,
Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide (Odidiomo) has facilitated a digital literacy and empowerment programme for youths in Oyo State as part of efforts to address unemployment and boost digital inclusion.

Representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, Olajide partnered with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to equip participants with practical digital skills suited to a technology-driven economy.

No fewer than 210 unemployed youths across the state are benefiting from the initiative, which is being delivered in two phases, an online session held between April 13 and 17, 2026, and a physical, hands-on training scheduled from April 20 to 24, 2026.

Speaking through his Senior Legislative Assistant, Kunle Folarin, Olajide emphasised the need to close the digital gap while creating sustainable opportunities for young people, noting that the programme is designed to promote both employability and entrepreneurship.

He added that the training prioritises practical application, exposing participants to areas such as remote work, digital marketing and other tech-driven opportunities.

To support long-term impact, beneficiaries will receive training materials, including laptops, alongside financial assistance to help them establish viable ventures after the programme.

Participants described the initiative as timely, expressing confidence that it would enhance their self-reliance and enable them to contribute meaningfully to economic growth.
