IBADAN   —-   THE National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has congratulated Ambassador Akinremi Bolaji following his successful screening for a Senate seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Sunday during the screening exercise for APC aspirants in Abuja, Yilwatda assured all contestants of a transparent and fair process, stressing that the party would provide a level playing ground for every aspirant.

The APC chairman particularly acknowledged the participation of former Nigerian envoy to Singapore, Ambassador Bolaji, describing his involvement in partisan politics as a welcome development.

He also congratulated other former diplomats who participated in the screening exercise, noting that their wealth of experience would contribute positively to national development and democratic governance.

Yilwatda expressed confidence that Nigerians would overwhelmingly re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, citing ongoing infrastructural development and economic reforms under the current administration.

According to him, the Nigeria–Niger rail corridor initiative conceived during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari was a strategic and beneficial project for Nigeria.

He stated that arrangements surrounding the project were structured in a way that revenues, including customs duties generated along the corridor, would benefit Nigeria.

The APC national chairman further commended President Tinubu for expanding the country’s infrastructure base, saying the administration was laying the foundation for the realization of a one-trillion-dollar economy.

He reiterated the commitment of the APC leadership to internal democracy and credible electoral processes within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
