OYHA Holds Public Hearing On Proposed Amendment Of Chieftaincy Law Friday

The Oyo State House of Assembly will tomorrow, Friday (12th May,2023) hold a public hearing on the proposed amendment to the Oyo State Chiefs Law.
Naijanewshub.com.ng reports that the Public Hearing will hold at the House of Chiefs, Parliament Building, Secretariat Ibadan.
Recall that, the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde sought an amendment to the Chiefs Law, Cap 28, Laws of Oyo State through an Executive council letter he forwarded to the State House of Assembly on Tuesday, and the bill which was read for the second time was committed to the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
The part sought to be amended is subsection (1) of Section 28 of the Principal Law.
The Public Hearing is expected to be attended by all necessary stakeholders including members of the traditional institutions in Oyo State, Ministries and Agencies of the Oyo State Government and members of the public.
