As part of line up activities in commemorating it’s 42nd anniversary of existence, an Ibadan Socio-Cultural group known as Omo Aj’orosun

Club has donated food items worth millions of naira to orphanage homes in Ibadan metropolis. The group also promised scholarship for 22 indigent students comprising eleven students from public secondary school in all eleven local government in Ibadanland and eleven students of public tertiary institutions.

Briefing journalists over the development during the weekend the President General of the club, Alhaji Abiola Alli shortly after the walk of peace by members of club stressed that the program is a week long event loaded with series of activities that will positively affect people of Ibadan.

He noted that food items, wheelchairs and other valuable things will be shared to the orphanage homes and the vulnerable people in the society to mark the 42nd existence of the club.

He said, stressed that the main objective of the club is to galvanize resources together for development of Ibadan land.


Part of the line up activities of the club is a visitation to the Olubadan Palace, with the objective of wining and dining with His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Senator Mohood Olalekan Ishola Balogun, the Alli Okunmade 11.

The club members alongside some students according to Alhaji Alli will also visit the palaces of the two warlord families in Ibadan land, the Balogun Ibikunle and Balogun Ogunmola, Alli noted that the visitation become necessary in order to be familiar with Ibadan history and to project the city forward.

Othe activities lined up include the health walk which kick start the program, prayers was for the Omo club, members, Ibadan metropolis, Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.

Alli further maintained that there would be lecture title “Metamorphose of Ibadan land” on Monday which will be given to the members and participants.

On Friday there will be a final of table tennis competition and with other sporting event to celebrate the anniversary, while Governor Seyi Makinde is expecting to grace the grand finale of the event on Saturday as a special guest of honour.

The former first lady of Oyo state, Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja would be the Chairperson of the day and Former Chief Judge of Oyo state, Bolajoko Adeniji would be Mother of the day.

The beneficiaries of the food items for the 42nd anniversary, FOMWAN Orphanage Homes and Cheshire Orphanage home expressed thier gratitude to the club for thier kind gestures, they also noted that this is not the first time that Omo Aj’orosun Club will extending their kind gesture to them, they also called on well meaning Nigerians as well as groups to emulate the good deeds of the club for betterment of the society at large.
