OSOGBO – OSUN State Chairman of Accord Party, Pastor Victor Akande has hinted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the country is never a threat to it’s Governorship Candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Speaking at a news conference in Osogbo, held at Correspondents’ Chapel, Akande noted that it is evidence that APC has lost its value and respect during the reign of Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola led APC administration.
According to him, “the candidate of APC with due respect is not a threat at all to our candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke. We know what that party stood for in this state, we know what we experienced when they were ruling in this state, People rejected them completely because of the suffering and untold hardship that APC inflicted on the people of Osun State.
“It is a fact and a history that when they were ruling in this state, the Issue of half salary caused deaths for pensioners, they were unable to buy drugs because their salary was not paid, and the cooperative they were in, the government of that time had squandered that money.
There were also abandoned projects littered across the state.
While stressing that his party, Accord, has commenced mobilization of voters across the state, Akande said that structure of Accord Party has began to grow wide reaching all nooks and crannies of the state.
“For sure Accord has a structure, in every local government and unit, we are trying to be more zealous when it comes to publicity for our members at the grassroot, and we want the public to know that Governor Adeleke is now a member of Accord party so that they may vote, we need to educate people and enlighten them concerning our party on the ballot system, because of our aged mothers and fathers, especially those from the rural places.
“We have put out a kind of community enlightenment Committee that will be responsible for going to rural places, where they don’t have access to social media or electricity, so that this news of what is happening in Osun State and the good work of Mr Governor gets to them and educates them on how to vote for our party
“When the present government came on board 3 years ago, everything was transformed a living witness is the flyover bridge in Oke-Fia projects are in every nook and cranny of this state, which is why it has a very large acceptance, and supporters
“They are not a threat, it is known that the people of Osun State don’t want APC again, they have been rejected, this was evident in 2022 election, I know by the grace of God August 2028 they will hear it clearly that APC has become a persona non grata as far as Osun State is concerned, so the work of Mr Governor will speak for him, because he has done well beyond expectations as far as Osun State is concerned.
So the work of Mr Governor will speak for him, because he has done well beyond expectations.

“As a political party we have relationship with everyone, during our primary which some of you were there on the 10th of December 2025, 14 other political party were on seat on that day, showing their solidarity to the present administration, and I am the chairman of inter-party advising council which has to do with the body of all political party in Osun State, not only that Accord will have relation with PDP, but will have relation with other political party also, even though we are not on the page, I will still reach out to them, because every reasonable and logical thinking person in Osun State will not want this good work that the Governor is doing to stop. And that is what we and the people are clamouring for, they told him to leave PDP if he is not convinient with the candidates that are there, pick any party and we are going to follow you, and we can see the kind of reception that the Governor had on that day after his primary, when he decided to move around the city that day, he was well accepted by the masses of Osun State, and that is how we know that APC candidate cannot be a threat to us.
