•••As Oyo Command Host Acting National Commander

The acting National Commander of Man ‘O’War Nigeria, Mr Adedamola Gbenga has assured members of the organization of a well defined function and roles in the national security architecture of the country under his leadership.

The acting National Commander also promised to prioritize welfare of members of the Man ‘O’War across all the geo political zones of the country.

Speaking with journalits in Ibadan during an unscheduled visit to Oyo state Command of the Man ‘O’War Nigeria, Mr Adedamola Gbenga seek support of all the stakeholders in the organization to achieve a successful tenure in office.

In his words, Adedamola said, “I’m using this opportunity to seek for the support of my people in Oyo state for this new administration under my watch, because I know for sure we have a lot of challenges at hand and we have a lot of tasks ahead that requires collective efforts, these are not something I can do on my own that’s why I’m here to plead for the support of my people, I need the support of my people to succeed in office.

“Since my inception in office as the acting National Commander of Man ‘O’War Nigeria, We’ve been able to come up with some strategic work plans which will be executed within few period and it’s something that needs to be done by members of the organization, we need their involvements and that’s what I have come here to solicit for their supports.” Adedamola said.

 

While speaking on what should be the expectations of Man ‘O’War members under his watch, Adedamola said, “Under my leadership our people should be expecting a new Man ‘O’War Nigeria, they should be expecting a Man ‘O’War that have a well spelt out national responsibility, a Man ‘O’War that have a well defined function and roles in the security architecture of our dear country, they should also be expecting a new Man ‘O’War that prioritize the welfare of our members, this is very important for us.”

His words about the national security and the ways out, Adedamola highlighted some efforts of Man ‘O’War Nigeria in actualizing a crime free society.

He said, “As we all know that Man ‘O’War is a para military organization, we have the training, we have the structure and we have the men and we have people that have passed through different training in life in our organization, and from the leadership of the organization we have put in place a lot of program to ensure that we compliment the efforts of security agencies in our country in tackling issues of insecurity in our country.”

“We know and believe that we have the capacity to support our security agencies towards achieving a crime reduction society and not only to support, we are also playing a very crucial roles in reducing the menace of insecurity in our country, for instance we have put in place a seminar for all our members in all tertiary institutions across the country and the essence of this is to ensure and enlighten them on their expected roles in their various campuses and we are equally inviting the Chief security Officers of these institutions, the Dean students affairs, so can have a roundtable discussion on what we can do to support our security operatives in terms of information and intelligence gathering, and when there is a national event or gathering what we can do to support our security agencies in terms of crowd controlling among others.”

“These among others are parts of the efforts we have put in place to ensure we play our own role in national security.” Adedamola said.

In his remarks the Man ‘O’War regional Commander for South West, Mr Adeoye Ayoade expressed his joy for being part of the delegation that received the acting National Commander.

He said, “This is the first outing of Mr Adedamola Gbenga after he was pronounced the acting National Commander of Man ‘O’War Nigeria and I feel so great and proud to have him in our midst this afternoon. I can gladly say that the South west is the main active hub of the Man ‘O’War Nigeria across all the regions we have the country, our acting National Commander upon assumption into office has been making us proud, this is a very discipline person and I can vouch for him anywhere, he’s a good leader that we hold in high esteem and I’m so sure with prayers and support from all the stakeholders he will soon be confirm as the national commander of the Man ‘O’War Nigeria.”

“I’m assuring him that we are going to give him every support needed to become the national commander of Man ‘O’War Nigeria, he’s our man, he’s our own and it’s our turn to be in that office.” Adeoye said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Oyo state Commandant of Man ‘O’War Nigeria, Alhaji Yekini Lukman Olanrewaju also expressed his happiness for hosting the highest delegation of the organization.

He also pledged unflinching support to the aspirations of the acting National Commander of Man ‘O’War Nigeria.

He said, “I’m so happy receiving the acting National Commander of the Man ‘O’War Nigeria in our command today, I’m using this opportunity to appreciate him on behalf of over 7,000 Man ‘O’War members in Oyo state, we really appreciate his gesture for coming over to see what we are doing in the state.”

“We are going to give him our full support to ensure he fully emerge as the national commander of Man ‘O’War Nigeria, he’s our own, he’s from this zone, from Ekiti state in particular and we grew up together, we’ve been together for years, so having him in that office will be a plus to all members of Man ‘O’War in south west, this is someone that knows the rudiments of Man ‘O’War, he’s someone we are proud of, and being the first acting National Commander from the south west is even a plus to us, so we are working and praying for his confirmation as the national commander of Man ‘O’War Nigeria.”
