Buhari Laid To Rest In Daura

KATSINA – THE Late President Muhammad Buhari has been laid to rest according to Islamic rites at his country home in Daura on Tuesday.

The late president’s remains arrived Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport at about 2:00 pm, accompanied by the vice president Kashim Shettima, along other government officials.

Later, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his son, Seyi and Yusuf Buhari, others both received the late president’s body after a short military ceremony held in Katsina before living to Daura by road in a presidential convoy.

The body on arrival in Daura was moved to his private residence for his family, friends, and associates to bid him final goodbye.

The body was later moved to the heli-pad site, where funeral prayers led by Imam Hassan Yusuf was held for the reposed of his soul at 4:56 pm.

His remains was committed to mother earth at his private residence, where he usually receives his visitors while alive within the compound in Daura.

The funeral prayer was attended by several dignitaries, including President Bola Tinubu, his vice, Sen Kashim Shettima, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina state, Hon Gbajabiamila, COS to Tinubu, Ministers, Governors, members of the National Assembly and other top government officials.

Other are wife of the president, Senator Remi Tinubu, Prime Minister of Niger Republic, Aliyu Limine Zeiner, former vice presidents Atiku Abubakar, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Goodwill Akpabio, Governors of Enugu, Kogi, Zamfara, Kano, Jigawa, Borno, Yobe, Kwara, Kebbi states among others.

Others are, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, Sen. Kabir Gaya, Ali modu Sherif, former Ministers, Pantami, Amaechi, former Gov Aliyu Wamako, Former Gov Aminu Bello Masari, former Gov Ekiti state, Fayemi Kayode, former minister of women affairs Pauline Tallen, Emir of Daura, Faruk Umar Faruk, former DSS boss, Bichi, 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, Minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika, Gov of Bauchi Bala Muhamed, former Gov of Kebbi state, Adamu Halero, former IG of Police Adamu, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, Emir of Zaria, Bamalli, Former Minister of defence, Yayale Ahmed, Former minister of communication, Adebayo Shittu and others.

Thousands of sympathizer mostly residents of Daura also attended the funeral prayers of the late President Muhammad Buhari as a mark of respect for their leader.

A cross section of the residents expressed deep grief over the death of their leader and father, President Muhammad Buhari, saying, Daura with his death, it would take years for them to recover from the loss.

They said despite living office in 2023, Daura was still enjoying the impact of the Federal government and now that he’s gone, we are not sure of what the future has for us.
