Court Nullifies Rivers APC Congresses

PORT HARCOURT – A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has nullified the Congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which produced Chief Tony Okocha as the state Chairman conducted recently in the state.

The Court decision followed a contempt suit filed by a faction of the party led by Chief Emeka Beke.

This was as the party led by Chief Tony Okocha defied an court issued order stopping the conduct of the Congresses in the state.

However, at the wake of the congresses, the embattled members of the party, who had secured the earlier court order, returned to court notifying it that the party went ahead to conduct the congresses despite the order of court.

Justice Godswill Obomanu, after listening to the submissions of the counsels, declared that the congresses of the party is null and void.
