Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 11 suspected internet fraudsters.
The suspects were arrested following a sting operation carried out at Whimpey, Ada George area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
A statement signed by EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, on Friday, disclosed that the arrest was prompted by credible intelligence and days of surveillance on the suspects alleged involvement in internet fraudulent activities.
Oyewale disclosed that items recovered from the suspects included four cars, diverse brands of phones and laptop computers containing fraudulent documents.
He added that the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
