LAGOS   –   FOUR persons have been confirmed dead and one other injured in a multiple crash involving three vehicles along the Eleko–Jetty corridor at Orimedu Mobile Filling Station, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, on Friday.

The crash, which occurred on November 28, 2025, involved a Mack tanker, a Honda Pilot SUV and a commercial tricycle, carrying a total of six occupants.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the accident claimed the lives of three male children and one adult male. One person sustained varying degrees of injuries and was rushed to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment.

FRSC spokesperson, SRC Oluwadamilola Jayeola, identified speeding as the primary cause of the accident. She said the Corps received a distress call and deployed personnel to the scene, but the victims had been evacuated by family members before officials arrived.

FRSC operatives, working in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, cordoned off the area, cleared the obstruction and managed traffic to avoid a secondary crash and ensure normal vehicular movement.

The FRSC Lagos State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde G. Hamzat, commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed for the repose of their souls. He urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules, avoid excessive speeding and drive defensively, stressing that many road crashes are preventable.

Hamzat also advised motorists to avoid distracted driving, including making phone calls and other actions capable of diverting attention from the wheel, stressing the need for responsible road use to safeguard lives.
