Four Feared Dead As Diesel Tanker Explodes In Delta

ASABA – No fewer than four persons yesterday died in a tanker explosion that occurred on Sunday afternoon at Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Daily Independent gathered that the explosion occurred on January 5, 2025, when a diesel tanker fell while the driver was attempting to make a U-turn on the Old Lagos / Asaba road, Agbor.

It was gathered that the Tanker driver and his companion, alongside two others, were burnt beyond recognition as the fire service did not get to the venue of the incident on time.

It was revealed that the fire gutted several shops and cars along that road.
When contacted, the Spokesperson of Delta Police Command, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident.

He further confirmed that the tanker was laden with diesel and not petrol.
