Gov Makinde Presents Instrument Of Office To First Onifiditi Of Fiditi, Oba Sakiru Oyewole

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has on Wednesday presented instruments office to Onifiditi of Fiditi, Oba Sakiru Oyewole Adekola Oyelere, Ajani -Eedu ll.
Governor Makinde who was ably represented at the coronation event held at the Fiditi Grammar School by his deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal noted that the process of selecting Oba Sikiru Oyewole Oyelere was diligently followed, starting with the endorsement by the entire family, the presentation by the local government, and the scrutiny by the Ministry.

Makinde stressed that this transparent and traditional selection process is commendable and demonstrates our commitment to upholding due process in the appointment of our leaders.
In his words, Makinde said, “This momentous occasion signifies the embodiment of tradition, heritage, and the continuation of the legacy of leadership in our land.”
“The process of selecting Oba Sikiru Oyewole Oyelere was diligently followed, starting with the endorsement by the entire family, the presentation by the local government, and the scrutiny by the Ministry. This transparent and traditional selection process is commendable and demonstrates our commitment to upholding due process in the appointment of our leaders.”
“I urge and implore Oba Sikiru Oyewole Oyelere to collaborate closely with the government in addressing pressing issues such as community development, education, healthcare, and security. By working hand in hand, we can tackle these challenges and ensure the welfare and progress of the entire community. The traditional institution and government authorities must join forces to promote peace, security, and overall development.”
“In particular, I charge you, Kabiyesi-elect, to take all necessary steps to prevent the scourges of kidnapping, banditry, and land grabbing in your domain. Our government has zero tolerance for these menaces, and we expect your full cooperation in eradicating them.”
“Embrace the wisdom, grace, and humility befitting a leader of your stature. Engage with the voices of your people, listen to their needs, and lead by example in fostering unity and progress in your domain. Your reign should be characterized by compassion, integrity, and a genuine dedication to the well-being of every individual under your care.”
“In exercise of the power conferred upon the Deputy Governor by sub-sections (1) and (2) of Section 20 of the Chiefs Law Cap 28 Vol.1 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000, I hereby present the instrument/staff of office, which symbolizes your authority as the Onifiditi of Fiditi, to His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Oyewole Oyelere.”
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those involved in making this ceremony possible and thank everyone for their unwavering support and dedication to the progress and unity of Fiditi. Let us continue to work together towards a brighter future for generations to come.” Makinde said.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon Ademola Ojo congratulated the new monarch and the state governor ‘Seyi Makinde that this is coming at his own time.
He said the development will enhance unity among indigenes of the town and the traditional system in the state.
urged the new monarch to work hard in hand with the state government for the progress of the community.
“We have to encourage them that this is an opportunity for cohesion to come in, for them to come together and be one, this momentous event signifies a pivotal chapter in the history of Fiditi.”
“As we witness the investiture of authority and leadership in a new era. The staff of office, a symbol of tradition, strength, and unity, is bestowed upon His Royal Majesty, entrusting him with the sacred duty of steering his community towards a prosperous future.”
“By presenting these revered symbols of power, we reassert our dedication to preserving the enduring principles that have shaped Fiditi for generations. May this occasion ignite a spirit of cohesion, advancement, and abundance, and may the reign of His Royal Majesty be defined by sagacity, benevolence, and elegance.” Ojo said.
In his acceptance speech, the newly crowned monarch, who is also the first crowned Onifidi of Fiditi in the history of the town Oba Adekola expressed his gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde and the entire people of Fiditi.
The Monarch promised to leverage on education for advancement of the town.
In his words, Oba Adekola said, “Today is a day of immense joy and profound gratitude. As I stand before you, honoured to be crowned as your traditional ruler, I am acutely aware of the great responsibility that this role carries. I am deeply humbled by your trust and confidence in me.”
“Special thanks to our esteemed Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, Your visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to the growth and prosperity of our state are truly inspiring and have left an indelible Impact. Your pivotal role in today’s successful coronation and your relentless support for our community’s development profoundly uplift all Fiditians. We deeply appreciate your commitment and foresight.”
“My educational and professional experiences have equipped me with the tools to serve our community with diligence and integrity. As a son of the Asu royal lineage, it is with great pride that i embrace the duties of this revered throne, a symbol of our rich heritage.”
“In my short reign, our focus has been on educational advancement because I believe that an educated society is an empowered society. I have worked to ensure the welfare of our elderly, acknowledging their wisdom and contributions to our heritage. The achievements we have seen are not mine alone but the result of collaborative efforts by many dedicated Fiditians and supportive constituents of Oyo State.”
