The duo of Taiwo Moyosore and Obadimu Olasubomi of Grace Point College Ibadan have emerged as the overall winner of the Busy Brains MECAMA Educational Games Competition.
No fewer than than 32 schools that were represented by 64 students participated in the Busy Brains Competition 2.0 Edition that was held at the International Conference Centre, Lead City University Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State.
The competition according to the inventor of MECAMA Educational Games, Mr Akinwole Adebayo Najeem, a lecturer at the Mathematics Dept, Federal College of Education Iwo, Osun State, is an avenue for participants to showcase their strategic thinking, teamwork and quick decision-making skills throughout the competition.
Mr Akinwole Adebayo in his address at the grand finale of the three-day intense competition maintained that the 2.0 edition of the competition was jointly organized by the Lead City University Radio, the Lead Radio and Algorithm Educational Concepts, Ibadan.
He said, “no fewer than 32 schools with 64 participants competing in the MARCO and E’MARCO Games of the five games in MECAMA Educational Games with the aim of promoting critical-thinking and problem-solving skills among students through engaging and competitive gameplay.”
Adebayo further said, “The main purpose of this competition is to challenge the students’ knowledge, skills and creativity in a fun and competitive environment. It is also an avenue to celebrate hard work, team work, dedication, among our students.”
“The Busy Brains MECAMA Educational Games Competition 2.0 Edition was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills among the youth. The event served as a platform for students to demonstrate their mental prowess and strategic abilities.”

The first, second, and third place winners of the competition received cash prizes of N150,000, N100,000, and N50,000 respectively. While the sum of N25,000 special awards were also given out to Marks Comprehensive High School for having the highest score point per game and making it to the semi finals of the competition, Oyinlola Int’l School was awarded with the sum of N10,000 for playing the highest score per turn in E’MARCO game.
The First Position of the competition was won by Taiwo Moyosore and Obadimu Olasubomi of Grace Point School, While Oluwatiba Divine and Babawibe Jemimah of Lead City Int’l School ll clinched second position of the competition, The third position goes to Efua Dirisu and Adebola Olawuyi of Lead City Int’l School l.
The Busy Brains Competition 2.0 edition was graced by the Registrar of the Federal College of Education Iwo, Alhaji M. A Yusuf, Mr Oladokun Taofeek of Lead City University, Mr Oyedepo Opeyemi, Mrs Eniola Lateefat, Mrs Seun Aladesuyi, Dr Mustapha, among other dignitaries.
The organizers expressed their satisfactions with the success of the event and praised all the participants for their impressive display of skills and sportsmanship. They reiterated the importance of such competitions in nurturing the intellectual capabilities of students and preparing them for real-world challenges.
