IBADAN –   THE lawmaker representing Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has restated her commitment to the welfare and economic empowerment of her constituents as over 200 residents benefited from an aquaculture training and empowerment programme.

Akande-Sadipe made this known on Friday in Ibadan during a capacity-building workshop on aquaculture organised for constituents of Oluyole Federal Constituency, where selected beneficiaries received startup grants of N100,000 each, amounting to N20 million.

The lawmaker said the initiative was part of her continuous efforts to reduce poverty, promote self-reliance, and improve the standard of living of the people of Oluyole.

According to her, the aquaculture training and financial support were designed to equip beneficiaries with the skills and resources needed to establish or expand fish farming businesses.

“My priority remains representing the people of Oluyole in a way that brings direct benefits to them. This programme is another step towards empowering our people economically and ensuring sustainable livelihoods,” she said.

Akande-Sadipe reiterated her resolve to remain responsive to the yearnings of her constituents, adding that several development-oriented projects had been facilitated to the constituency under her representation.

She expressed appreciation to the people of Oluyole for their continued support and cooperation, assuring them of more dividends of democracy.

A cross-section of the beneficiaries praised the lawmaker’s foresight and political maturity, noting that the initiative would significantly improve their economic prospects.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Lukman Adebisi, said the grant would help expand his catfish farming business, adding that the training further enhanced his knowledge of modern fish farming techniques.

Similarly, Mrs. Rukayat Jimoh commended Akande-Sadipe for her consistent empowerment programmes, describing the aquaculture initiative as timely and impactful.

“She has shown genuine commitment to improving the lives of her constituents, and these empowerment programmes have earned her widespread recognition,” Jimoh said.

The training programme featured expert facilitators from the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR), who provided technical guidance on best practices in aquaculture production.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of N100,000 startup grants to each of the 200 beneficiaries, reinforcing the lawmaker’s drive toward sustainable economic empowerment in Oluyole Federal Constituency.
