House of Reps Speaker, Oyo Caucus Members Pay Condolence Visit To Makinde Over Brother’s Demise

IBADAN – The House of Representatives Speaker, Rt. Honourable Tajudeen Abass and Oyo House of Reps Caucus on Friday paid a condolence visit to Oyo state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde over the death of his brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.

Honourable Tajudeen Abass who was represented by Hon. Akeem Adeyemi representing Afijo/Atiba /Oyo East /Oyo West Federal Constituency led other rep members from Oyo State to Governor Makinde’s official residence at Ikolaba GRA, Ibadan, the Capital City of the State.

Speaking on behalf of the Speaker and the caucus members, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi sympathised with the Governor, emphasizing the pain that comes with losing of a family member.

He prayed to God to bless the Governor with long life and strength to take care of the family the deceased left behind.

Hon. Adeyemi, while assuring Oyo state citizens of quick facilitation of projects that will aid the development of their constituencies and the state at large, asserted that the progress of Oyo state is paramount and the House of Representatives has a good synergy with the Oyo state government in its commitment to drive the state forward.

He acknowledged that there is no single project facilitated by any member of the national assembly that has faced any resistant from the Governor.

He said, “As a Rep members, we’ve never for once faced form of resistance nor intimidation over any projects we facilitated for the state from the Governor and this shows the level of harmony and maturity between our Governor and the House of Representatives members.

“In Oyo State, which is our own dear state, both the state government and the House of rep members are committed towards the wellness of the citizens, and we are so optimistic that projects that are geared towards the betterment of the citizenry are delivered.”

Hon Akeem expressed how delighted they are to meet the Governor’s high-spirited and prayed that God give the Governor the fortitude to bear the loss.

Other Rep members on the condolence visit are, Hon. Stanley Adedeji Olajide, Representing Ibadan North West/South West Federal Constituency, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola, representing Ogo-Oluwa/ Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. Adebayo Anthony Adepoju, representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Wasiu Akinmoyede Lafioye, representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, and Hon. Oyeshina Najimdeen Oyedeji, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Constituency.

Recall that Engineer Sunday Makinde, aged 65, passed away on January 24, 2025.
