Ibadan North By-Election: PDP Reiterates Readiness To Occupy Vacant Seat••• Throws Weight Behind Hon. Matthew Oyeniyi

IBADAN – The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State has reiterated its readiness to occupy the vacant seat at the House of Representatives, the seat has been vacant following the death of the federal lawmaker, Olaide Akinremi popularly known as “Jagaban” in the forthcoming by-election.

This decision made at a critical general party meeting and rally held at St Paul Anglican Primary School, Yemetu, Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State.

Speaking, the Public Relations Officer of the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State, Michael Oyesina said his party has put everything together to defeat the All Progressives Congress,APC for an enviable democratic dividends.

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government Council, Seun Olufade, flanked by executive chairman of Lagelu Local Government Council, Kamorudeen Mudashiru and other chieftains of the party in Ibadan Local Government Council, said the participation will serve a litmus to the gubernatorial contest of the party in the year 2027.

A chieftain of the party and current Chairman, Oyo State Housing Corporation, Hon. Gbenga Omotosho credited the good spirit of the members of the party, urging members to its best to win the mandate for ease of life and democratic development in Ibadan North Council and Oyo State.

A House of Representatives’ Aspirant in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Matthew Oyeniyi, who applauded the supports received from members of the party, said his intention as a party Aspirant was to strengthen the thriving move of democracy in Ibadan North federal Constituency.

The former Ward 12 Councillor called members to continue to support the party and any approved candidate in the forthcoming bye-election in Oyo State.

Members, enthusiasts and local executives of the party went with 2.2million naira pooled by Hon. Matthew Oyeniyi, supporters and other chieftains.

Present at the event included State lawmakers representing Ibadan North I &II at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Gabriel Adebayo and Hon. Comforter Olajide, former aide to Oyo South Senator, Hon. Kazeem Alimi, Chairman, Oyo State Youth Development Agency, Adebowale Falana, among others.
