Insecurity: Amid Alleged St. Peter’s Rukubi Students Abduction, Nasarawa Govt. Urges Public Against Fake News

LAFIA   –   FOLLOWING the alleged kidnapping of some students of St Peter’s Academy Rukubi in Doma local government area of the state; the Nasarawa State government has warned against unverified reports capable of breaching the prevailing relative peace in the state.

The warning was contained in a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to governor Abdullahi Sule, Mr. Ibrahim Addra and available to newsmen in Lafia the state capital.

The statement said that the warning became an imperative following the completely false report of an alleged kidnapping of students in Doma LGA of the state.

The statement read” Reports from local authorities, the principal of the purported school and community members indicated no such incidence occurred in the area.

“The Nasarawa State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, PRO in particular has issued a statement categorically debunking this falsehood,” the statement read.

The statement further enjoined the residents to disregard this false alarm, and remain law abiding as Government remain unwavering in its commitment to the security of lives and property in the state.
