Just In: Fire Guts Kano Emir’s Palace, Sanusi Safe, Sound

KANO – Kano emir’s palace tucked inside the ancient city was on Saturday gutted by fire that left on its throes destruction.
Eyewitness accounts told journalists that the inferno was recorded around 11:00am while activities was on full swing.
Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II was at the palace at Kofar Kudu when the outbreak occurred.
Confirming the incident, the Chief of staff to Malam Sanusi II, Munir Sanusi Bayero in a terse statement that obtained by INDEPENDENT said.
“there was no casualties and the damage was minimal.”
