IBADAN  – THE Olubadan-in-Council has unanimously nominated former Oyo State Governor and Otun Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The decision was reached on Monday during a council meeting held at the Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan. Notably, Oba Ladoja was absent from the session.

Presiding over the meeting, the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, confirmed that all members of the council endorsed Ladoja’s nomination.

“We have all agreed and nominated Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland,” Oba Ajibola stated.

He added that the council’s resolution would be formally forwarded to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who is expected to announce a date for the official presentation of the staff of office.

Ajibola, however, clarified that the event would not take place this week due to the burial of the immediate past Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

“The burial of the late Olubadan will be held this week. So, this week is not feasible. The governor may choose to present the staff of office in one, two, or three weeks,” he said.
