Lafiku Dynasty Cries Out Over Alleged Land Encroachment, Seeks Olubadan, Oyo Govt Intervention

IBADAN – The Lafiku Dynasty in Ibadan has raised alarm over alleged encroachment on its ancestral land, calling on the newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, and the Oyo State Government to intervene.
The protest, led by descendants of the Onifade Ogunkanmi lineage under the Lafiku Dynasty, was staged on Friday at the residence of the Asipa Olubadan-designate, His Royal Highness Oba Amidu Ajibade, who addressed the demonstrators on behalf of the Olubadan.
Oba Ajibade declared that the Olubadan-in-Council stands firmly against land grabbing and warned that perpetrators would face the full weight of the law.
“We don’t want the activities of land grabbers in Ibadanland. Our father, the Olubadan, does not support such unlawful practices,” Oba Ajibade stated.
He further warned that anyone attempting to take over land illegally would be resisted.
“They should find another job because land grabbing will not be tolerated under this dispensation,” he said.
Dynasty Alleges Takeover of Over 50 Villages
The protesters accused a deposed Baale, Jelili Oyetunde of the Oyetunde Family, of laying claim to lands across more than 50 villages along the Olojuoro-Olomi axis in Oluyole Local Government Area.
Spokesperson for the family, Akogun Saheed Olawoyin, alleged that Oyetunde had been disturbing the peace of the area for over six years, despite having sold his own family village in Eleta to a private individual.
