IBADAN – THE Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Akeem Olatunji, has congratulated the Olubadan-designate and former Governor of Oyo State, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on the occasion of his 81st birthday anniversary.
Olatunji described Oba Ladoja as “a rare gem, a father of the entire people of Ibadanland, and a blessing to Oyo state.”
In a statement on Thursday in Ibadan, Olatunji lauded Oba Ladoja’s enduring contributions to the political, cultural, and socio-economic development of Oyo State, noting that his life has been marked by exemplary service, humility, and selfless leadership.
“On behalf of the government and good people of Oluyole Local Government, I heartily felicitate with our revered father, the Olubadan-designate, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as he clocks 81 years today.
“Baba’s life has been a true reflection of dedication to the service of humanity and unflinching love for Ibadanland,” the statement read in part.
The council boss further described Ladoja’s forthcoming coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland as historic, given its symbolic alignment with his birthday celebration.
He expressed confidence that Oba Ladoja’s reign would usher in unprecedented peace, progress, and unity among Ibadan indigenes and residents.
“Baba’s ascension to the exalted throne of Olubadan at this significant moment of his life is nothing short of divine arrangement.
“His reign, we believe, will bring greater fortune, unity, and development to Ibadanland.
“We join the entire people of Oyo State to pray for long life, good health, and wisdom for Baba as he officially mounts the throne tomorrow,” Olatunji added.
The 81st birthday celebration of the Olubadan-designate comes just a day before his official coronation, which is billed to take place at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan, and expected to attract dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond.
