Oyebamiji Emerge Osun APC Gubernatorial Candidate

OSOGBO – ASIWAJU Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji has been confirmed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Osun State.
His emergence following the party’s primary election conducted in Osogbo.
The emergence was by affirmation.
During the exercise, a motion was presented for other aspirants to step down in favour of Oyebamiji.
The motion was moved by aspirant Kunle Adegoke and seconded by Babajide Omoworare.
“Kunle Rasheed Adegoke said his affirmation follows the decision of the APC National Working Committee. He declared that other eight Governorship aspirants have stepped down for Oyebimiji.
According to him, I Kunle Rasheed Adegoke with the consent of all other Governorship aspirants move the motion that Oyebamiji be adopted as the consensus candidate to contest in the 2026 Governorship election, I so move”
The Chairman of the primary election committee who is also Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, thereafter called for Oyebamiji’s nomination to be affirmed.
The motion was then put to a voice vote, with delegates from all 332 wards across the state’s 30 local government areas unanimously supporting his candidacy.
