Oyo Hospital Management Chair, Akin Fagbemi Bags AMDO Distinguished Personality Award

IBADAN – The Association of Medical and Dental Officers (AMDO) in Oyo State has conferred Distinguished Personality Award on the Chairman, Oyo State Hospitals Management Board (OYSHMB), Dr. Akin Fagbemi.
The prestigious award recognizes Fagbemi’s exemplary leadership and contributions to healthcare sector in Oyo State.
Presenting the award at the 2024 Non-Elective Annual General Meeting, theme: “Security Hazard; A National Epidemic: Doctors as an Endangered Species”, AMDO Chairman in the state, Dr. Solomon Olaoye hailed Fagbemi’s innovative approaches to healthcare management, citing improvements in primary healthcare services, infrastructure development, and staff welfare.

In his remark, Fagbemi expressed gratitude to AMDO for the honor, dedicating the award to governor Seyi Makinde and the entire healthcare team in Oyo State.
He emphasized his commitment to ensuring accessible, quality healthcare for all citizens, highlighting ongoing initiatives such as injecting new healthcare workers in the system.
Under Dr. Fagbemi’s leadership, the Oyo State Healthcare Management Board has recorded significant milestones, earning recognition from local and national healthcare stakeholders.
He thank governor Seyi Makinde for his magnanimity and support for doctors, saying the role doctors played in healthcare delivery can not be overemphasized.
“We are glad that this award is coming at this time, we shall continue to support the doctors, we want people of the state to know that our doctors are responsible and responsive, so our people in the state should expect better healthcare delivery.”
