In order to strengthen the security architecture within Oyo state, the state Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Dr. Adaralewa Micheal Akintayo has on Tuesday commissioned Area K Command Office at Iresa-Adu town, Surulere local government, Ogbomoso.

While addressing the people at the event, Dr. Adaralewa maintained that the edifice become necessary in the community in order to avert any major crises, as well as managing contemporary security challenges.

He said, “the establishment and citing of the Area K Command Office in Iresa-Adu was approved by the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi as a means of consolidating on the commendable efforts of the state government and security actors in the state.”

Adaralewa further stressed that the grassroot security disposition of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has engendered a working collaboration between the corps and the citizens of the country.

He said, “The Command will further strengthen the collaborative, grassroot security apparatus in the state.”

While speaking on what informed the security expansion strategy, Adaralewa said, “It is the vision of
the Commandant General of NSCDC to bring the resources of the government, as available to the corps closer to the people, this is with the intention of inspiring a conscious and collaborative effort in policing.”

The newly commissioned Area K Command Office according to the commandant shall be superintending over six divisions namely; Surulere, Iresaapa, Surulere South(Oko), Ogo-Oluwa(Ajaawa), Ogo-Oluwa(Odo-Oba), Ogo-Oluwa lol(Opete), as Oyo state command of NSCDC will continue to ensure the engagement of available human and materials resources to ensure the protection of lives and property, while working with other security agencies for the maintenance of law and order.

Adaralewa however called for cooperation of the good people of Iresa-Adu and the entire Surulere local government in order to achieve the core mandate of the corps of establishing the edifice.

He said, “We look forward to the cooperation and support of the good people of Surulere local government in every area necessary to achieve our objectives, a secured and and peaceful environment is everybody’s business.”

In the address credited to the two Mogajis of Iresa-Adu and the entire chieftaincy of the community that was delivered by Chief John Odejobi commended the NSCDC for considering their community as the location for the Command Office.

Chief John through the speech promised unflitching support of the entire people of the community to the NSCDC officers in the community to achieve their core mandate of securing lives and property as enshrined in the constitution.

He said, “We want to make it abundantly clear and assure you that the elders and the youths will collectively rally round you for the achievement and realization of your expected dreams of making Surulere safe of any threat to the peaceful co-existence of our land and by extension safety of lives and properties which will further foster and promote rapid social and economic development of our communities.

However, the state NSCDC Commandant gave the names of the pioneering officers of the newly commissioned command as Ifalokun Emily, Olumide Olukunle, Ogunniyi Bunmi, Oladapo Bamike, Tella Billiaminu, Rasaq Hammed, Fadele Olusegun, and Andullahi Hadiza.
