The Speaker, Oyo state House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin and his wife, Mrs Olamidun Ogundoyin, have hosted children and their parents to an elaborate Christmas fanfare.
The fanfare was held in Lanlate hometown of Speaker Ogundoyin in Ibarapa East Local Government.
According to a statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Alhaji Oyetunji Oyekunle, the programme had the lawmaker’s other family members in attendance.
The statement indicated that gift items such as cash and food materials were also distributed.
Ogundoyin, who is also the Chairman, Nigeria Conference of Speakers equally acknowledged the backing and support of his people at home in Lanlate.
He noted that even though the responsibility on his shoulder as the head of legislature in Oyo state as well as being the Leader of Nigeria Conference of Speakers, he could not miss the opportunity of the Yuletide to spend time with his kinsmen and their children back at home.
The Speaker said, “In the spirit of the Yuletide season, I hosted hundreds of children in my Ibarapa East state constituency to a Christmas carnival.”
“The children were treated to lots of entertaining activities while the presence of Santa Clause added glamour to the carnival.
“Christmas is a season of love, and a time to share hence, the children were presented with beautiful gifts to create a happy memory of togetherness in their hearts.
“I admonished the children to be obedient, hardworking, respectful, keep good company and to spread love amongst themselves as exemplified by Jesus Christ while wishing them and their parents Merry Christmas and a more rewarding new year ahead.”
