Ibadan Comes Alive As Cultural Fiesta, Fun Fair Hold For Ladoja’s Coronation

IBADAN – THE coronation of former governor of Oyo State, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Tuesday marked with excitement, fun, and vibrant cultural display at a cultural fiesta held in Ibadan.
The event, which was part of the week-long program for the coronation took place at Olubadan Stadium in Iyaganku showed symbol of love, strength, and unity in Ibadanland and it’s environ.
The fiesta had in attendance the President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indegiens (CCII), Barr. Niyi Ajewole, President of Ibadan Mogaji’s, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, and the Coordinator of Ibadan Compound Peace Initiatives (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade, Oyo NUJ Chairman Comrade Ademola Babalola among others.
The cultural fiesta featured traditional dances, music, and attire showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Ibadan people.
Attendees donned traditional clothing, adding to the colorful and festive atmosphere of the coronation ceremony.
The coronation cultural fiesta saw active participation from the Ibadan community. Locals and visitors alike came out to witness the colorful ceremony, celebrate the new Olubadan, and enjoy the cultural displays.
Ladoja, a former Senator and former Governor of the state is billed to be coronated Friday, 26th September, 2025 at the historic Mapo hall in Ibadan.
Ladoja if installed as Olubadan of Ibadanland will be the first former Senator and former Governor to become the Olubadan in the history of Ibadanland.
Dignitaries expected at Ladoja’s coronation on Friday include President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ex-Nigerian vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Governors across Nigeria and former Kano State Governor and leader of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr. Rabiu Kwakwanso among others.
