Police Parade Suspected Armed Robbers, Kidnappers, Rapist, Hijackers, Others In Ibadan

IBADAN – OYO Police Command has on Thursday paraded some suspected criminals specialized in various illegal activities ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, hijacking, raping among others.
Parading the suspected criminals before journalists at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan, the State Police Public Relations Officer CSP Adewale Osifeso noted that the Command operates in strict accordance with the constitution and all relevant regulatory frameworks.
While giving detailed account of the arrest of the suspects, Osifeso said, “in response to public concerns about motorcycle-related crimes, kidnappings, and vehicular hijackings, particularly as we enter the ember months we are today presenting (17) seventeen male suspects arrested for various offenses, including kidnapping, armed robbery, criminal hijacking, and the distribution of counterfeit currency.
He said, “On 15th June, 2025 at about 1500hrs, one Faleru Segun and his wife, Teminioluwa Adewunmi both of Fola Kongi Street Basorun Area were intercepted at the entrance of their house by three members of a dreaded criminal gang who were armed with sophisticated firearms and some other dangerous weapons.
“The notorious Men of the Underworld forced the duo into their apartment at gun point and in the process, they dispossessed them of Fifty-Two (52) Grams of Gold Necklace valued Seven Million, Five Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira, One Iphone -13, One IPhone-16 Promax, and some other valuable items.
“As if that was not enough, the armed robbers unlawfully transferred a sum of Four Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira from the victims’ Monie-point Bank Account into a NOM Microfinance Account Number ‘’974669832’’, belonging to a female member of the armed robbery syndicate. The Suspects later escaped from the scene on a Lady-Motorbike they used for the criminal activity.
“The incident was reported at Ikolaba Police Division and upon the conclusion of their preliminary investigation, the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan.
“The operatives at the state CID embarked on a discreet investigation and in the process, on 3rd September, 2025 at about 1700hrs, the kingpin of the criminal gang who gave his name as Omole Ridwan and Adegbile Adewunmi the female member of the gang whose account was used to siphon money from the victims’ account were arrested in their respective hideouts.
“One AK-47 Riffle with an empty Magazine, one Double Barrel Pistol, One Metal Object Fabricated like a pistol, One Axe and two cutlasses which they used for the armed robbery operation were recovered from the suspects.’
“Upon questioning, they made confessional statements to the police regarding the armed robbery operation and they have equally provided useful information that would facilitate the arrest of their fleeing syndicate members.
“Investigation is now in progress; further developments will be communicated later.” Osifeso said.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects are AK-47 rifle with breech number 1057, one double barrel pistol, one metal object fabricated like gun, one axe, two cutlasses,one AK-47 empty magazine.
