Polytechnic Ibadan Council Constitutes Panel Over Anonymous Petition

IBADAN – THE Governing Council of The Polytechnic, Ibadan (TPI) has constituted a six-member investigative committee to examine issues raised in an anonymous petition currently circulating within the institution.
The decision was reached at the Council’s meeting held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, following the circulation of the anonymous letter dated Tuesday, February 3, 2026, which has also been reported by several radio stations.
According to a press release signed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mogaji Soladoye Adewole, the Council reviewed the contents of the petition and resolved to set up a committee to thoroughly investigate the allegations and establish the facts surrounding the issues raised.
The committee is chaired by Prince Adeleke Akinboye Ajala. Other members include Mrs. Eniola Lucy Bola, Prof. Akinloye Lawal, Prof. Mudashiru Lateef Owolabi, a representative of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs. O. S. Oyin-Adejobi, while Mrs. Folashade O. Yoloye will serve as Secretary to the committee.
The Council stated that the committee has been mandated to critically examine all matters contained in the anonymous petition by digging into the root causes of the allegations. It is also expected to provide an open window for members of the Polytechnic community to express their views on any or all of the issues raised.
In addition, the committee will receive and review credible evidence and memoranda relevant to the petition without hindrance. The Council assured stakeholders that no individual would be victimised for submitting reactions or providing information to aid the investigation.
Submissions, according to the statement, must be supported with full contact details to enable proper follow-up where necessary.
All reactions or memoranda are to be submitted to the Office of the Secretary to the committee at the Governing Council Secretariat, old Rector’s office, North campus, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
The submission window opens from Thursday, February 12, 2026, and will close at the end of working hours on Friday, February 20, 2026.
The Council reiterated its commitment to transparency and due process in handling the matter.
