A philanthropist, Dr. Babatunde Olawore who also doubles as Director of Comfort Deserve Limited, has donated the sum of one million Naira to brilliant and indigent students of the Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Speaking at the combined 35th to 38th Convocation Ceremony of the Polytechnic Ibadan, Olatunde urged the youths to take the advantage of education to better their lives and desist from all forms of truancy capable of destroying their future.
The director had equally supported students in Nigeria through his Comfort Eduserve Limited to study in the United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Australia, and New Zealand.
He explained that the cash gift to students was to complement the government’s effort in providing good living conditions and creating an enabling environment for students of the Tertiary Institution.
He maintained that the gesture was a demonstration of his commitment to making an impact on the lives and welfare of the best and indigent students who he said deserved care from well-meaning individuals in the society.
He, however, appealed to parents to ensure proper training of their children in all spheres of human endeavour.
He urged the beneficiaries not to relent in their efforts in achieving good success in their future endeavors.
Among the beneficiaries were the overall best ND Female in the Faculty of Science, Osunwo Ayomide; overall best HND Student, Alimi Wasilat Oyindamola; the best overall ND Student, Samuel Israel; Best HND Graduating student in the Faculty of Sciences, Alimi Wasilat Oyindamola; Best ND graduating student in Faculty of Sciences, Osunwose Ayomide.
While appreciating the donor, the best-graduating student of the Polytechnic, Ibadan, Wasilatu Alimi,
appreciated Dr. Babatunde Olawore for his gesture and donation.
Wasilatu received many prizes and awards at the institution’s combined graduation ceremony.
