Satguru Maharaj Ji vs Oluyole LGA: Court Adjourns Case Till June 19, Grants Adherents Bail

IBADAN – The Magistrate court, Court 3, Iyaganku, Ibadan has adjourned the hearing of a bail pending trial against three adherents of the founder of the One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji in a lawsuit against Oluyole Council Secretariat till June 19, 2025

During the court proceedings which came up today, the presiding Magistrate, S.I Babalola (MRS), ruled in the presence of the parties involved that the hearing of the case will continue on the adjourned date.

Speaking with journalists at the court, Satguru Maharaj Ji’s counsel, Barrister Olasehinde Obisesan and an eye witness, Nsidibe Iwatt explained that the lawsuit started early this year after suspected land grabbers stormed parcels of land belonging to Satguru Maharaj Ji’s along Ibadan-Lagos expressway way and laid claim to the portion of the land domiciled in the area.

“Upon sighting the men who claimed to be from the Oluyole council Secretariat alongside some police officers, peace loving adherents of Satguru Maharaj Ji approached them to make enquiry about their sudden and unannounced visit to the area, a development which led to the arrest of three adherents of Satguru Maharaji by men in uniform and their subsequent charge to court after eight days in detention.”

“After they appeared before Magistrate Babalola of the Iyaganku Magistrate court, the three adherents of Satguru Maharaj Ji dragged to the court by the police were pressed with three count charge of conduct likely to breach peace, Forceful entry and Conspiracy but the court later found them to be merit of freedom and they were released on bail.”

Naijanewshub gathered that some other adherents of Satguru Maharaj Ji who came for the court proceedings after leaving the court room on Thursday, and some representatives of the local council engaged in verbal altercation that lasted for minutes.

Meanwhile, findings revealed that the parcels of land which the Oluyole council Secretariat is laying claim to is already in the high court with other parties such as private companies and firms arguing that the land belong to them.

In a copy of the document tendered before the court, Oluyole council Secretariat claimed that the Federal government gave the land to the council Secretariat but upon careful examination of the document, it was discovered that the purported request to use the land and the claimed approval granted to the Secretariat were all done within 120 hours.

As at the time of filing this report, the founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji has supplied his lawyers documents as well as facts and figures to prove that he legitimately owns the land.
