The remains of the 8th Speaker of the National Assembly, Ghali Umar Na’Abba was laid to rest at the Dandolo cemetery in Gwale Local Government area of the Kano metropolis on Wednesday evening.

The Chief Imam of Kano State, Prof. Sani Zaharaddeen had led thousands of Muslim faithful in the ritual prayer according to Islamic injunction at the Emir of Kano palace.

Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Speaker of House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, Presidential candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and the Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo joined several other faithful to paid their last respects.

Other top flight politicians on hand during the last ritual prayers include the former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, former governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and Senator representing Kano South Senatorial District, Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila.

Earlier, Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo alongside the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin received the corpse at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKIA.

The former Speaker, 8th National Assembly, late Na’abba died on Wednesday at the age of 65 after protracted illness at the National Hospital, Abuja.

Late Ghali Na’abba was survived by a wife and 10 children (8 female and 2 male).
