The Polytechnic Ibadan Promises Collaboration With Oyo NAWOJ

IBADAN – The Management of The Polytechnic Ibadan has promised to collaborate with the Oyo State chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in the area of women empowerment and gender equality.

The Rector of the Polytechnic Ibadan Dr Taiwo Lasisi stated this while receiving the leader of NAWOJ Oyo State chapter led by Comrade Omolola Alamu.

According to the Rector, the institution will work closely with NAWOJ Oyo State chapter in the area of training and empowerment of women and support the association in its lofty programmes.

“NAWOJ is one of the professional associations in Nigeria that Sharp the country through dissemination of accurate information.The institution have no choice than to support the association in its lofty programmes.The institution will partner with the Association in the area of training and empowerment.”Rector said.

In her remarks,the Chairperson of Oyo NAWOJ Comrade Omolola Alamu said the visit to the institution is to straighten the existing relationship between the Association and the Polytechnic Ibadan.

The Number one female journalists in the State also reiterated the Association’s commitment in disseminate accurate information about the tremendous success recorded by the institution since the appointment of Dr Lasisi as Rector of the Polytechnic Ibadan.

” We appreciate the vital roles the Polytechnic Ibadan plays in sharpening the future of our youth and the Association is committed to support the efforts of the institution through our media engagement.As journalists,we recognize the importance of collaboration between media and educational institutions.The Association seeks to foster a mutually beneficial relationship, promoting each other’s activities and advancing the course of education in the state. ” Alamu said.

Comrade Alamu also used the courtesy visit to intimate the Polytechnic Ibadan about the Nawoj week expected to kick start on October 27th this year with Thanksgiving service at Oritamefa Baptist Church Ibadan.

The Management of the institution also decorated Omolola Alamu and other members who are alumni members of the institution with ambassadorial roles.


On the entourage of the Oyo NAWOJ leader, included Secretary Eniola Adeaga, Treasurer ,Mosunmola Akinola,Omolara Ayoade and Chairperson Oyo NAWOJ week 2024 Comrade Dupe Fehintola.
