Ibadan based legal practitioner, Mr Tobi Fatoki, has urged Igede indigenes residing in Oyo State to embrace peaceful and harmonious co-existence with their respective host communities.

Fatoki who made this known on at the weekend in Ibadan, during end of the year party of Igede Youth Movement,(IYM) Oyo state chapter, asserted that unity among all ethnic groups is paramount for Nigeria greatness.

He noted that Igede community has contributed a lot to the development of Oyo state, both in agricultural and political circuit.

He urged them to continue doing what would further fast-track growth and development of Oyo state.

Fatoki, who is the Publicity Secretary, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ibadan chapter, urged Igede sons and daughters residing in Oyo state to always have respect for norms and culture of their host communities. He cautioned them to let their day to day engagement be within the ambit of the law.

He further advised them to thrive to leave a good legacy and shouldn’t forget their source, promising to continue reaching out to them and render necessary assistance whenever the need arises.

Fatoki who contested the March 18, House of Assembly election for Lagelu State Constituency under the platform of ACCORD, used the opportunity of the gathering to appreciate Igede community for their support during the election period.

The President, Igede Youth Movement,(IYM), Mr Simon Ochete, said the event was organised to celebrate with all Igede sons and daughters living in Oyo state as the year ends.

Ochete also said that the gathering was an opportunity to remind all IYM members of the need to live peacefully with other tribes in their respective host communities.

He commended Fatoki for his humility and selfless service through pro-bono legal services and day in, day out empowerments in Lagelu Local Government area, of which many Igede men and women in the area benefited from.
