Wizkid Fires Back At 2Baba After Veteran Names Burna Boy “Ahead”
•By Admin
ABUJA – NIGERIAN music superstar Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has hit back at legendary singer Innocent Idibia also known as 2Baba after the veteran ranked Burna Boy above him in the ongoing “Big Three” debate of Afrobeats. The exchange has set social media ablaze.
2Baba, speaking on the Mic On Podcast, said Burna Boy is currently “ahead” of both Wizkid and Davido in terms of international influence.
He stressed that his view was about global reach, not financial success, and praised all three artists for their achievements.
Wizkid, however, did not take the comments lightly. On his Snapchat story, the Grammy-winning singer fired a pointed message at 2Baba:
“At least make peace with your family first before having opinions about music. Old man, I’m never letting it slack in 2026.”
The post quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and other platforms, sparking heated debates among fans and industry observers. Hashtags linking Wizkid, 2Baba, and Burna Boy trended as opinions divided sharply online.
Reactions have been mixed. Some fans applauded Wizkid for defending his legacy, while others urged respect for 2Baba, widely seen as one of Nigeria’s most influential music icons.
So far, neither 2Baba nor Burna Boy has responded publicly, leaving fans wondering whether this online clash will escalate or fizzle out.
